I got email from cPanel ChkServd Service Monitor notice me many times it's 6-7 times during a months now.

    " httpd failed @ Fri Dec 16 22:33:22 2011. A restart was attempted automagically.

    Service Check Method: [tcp connect]

Failure Reason: Unable to connect to connect to 80 on 127.0.0.1: Connection refused: connect: Connection refused ...propagated at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/TailWatch/ChkServd.pm line 454.

Number of Restart Attempts: 1 "

What is a reason for httpd failed? not show me a process that have a problem? I has been check daily logs but nothing show me special to understand how httpd failed happen to my VPS?

before i has submit ticket to wiredtree is cPanel Authorized Partner, and they answer me that my VPS was out of memory, but when i am checking daily logs and Service Status showing me Memory Used 35 - 60% not even more. how can i believe that my vps was out of memory and got httpd failed? How to check which process that spend a lot of memory? when i am check daily logs it's nothing show me about out of memory.

I am not sure about it out of memory or DDos attack?

and another email that sent to me so often

    Hello,

The reason for why httpd was failed can found in apache error log ( and in /var/log/message if the VM went out of memory ). Please note that if its a Virtuozzo 32 bit VM, this can happen even if the mem usage shows 65% due to its memory addressing limitation ( it may send OOM signal to kill the process ).

The later log is cpanel daily update log; you can ignore it!

    Thank you,
    Nibin.

How to know that httpd failed from "Out of memory"? how to check it out?
I can tell that i can't check from Virtuozzo, WHM/cPanel but message notice from cpanel@myserver via email at least cPanel can show any process of httpd failed which is process that breaking my server, right?

    Thank you for any help

I'm getting this also, and it's the first time I've ever seen this error. Firewall logs/alerts don't indicate DDoS. I wouldn't rule out a cPanel bug :-/
