cPanel totally crashed my OS. It deleted the root password so that the OS cannot boot. 2 times cPanel deleted everything from httpd.conf. Now the servers is up but cPanel is not working. Apache is working but it is showing Page Forbidden although the permissions are correct.

I would be grateful if the cPanel's team pay more attention to FreeBSD users.

I do think that CPanel is more focused on RH, however, it should work fine on FreeBSD.

Let us know if you need assistance with this.

For instance, cPanel deleted most of the users from /etc/passwd so that we needed to restore it. The root password was deleted and the machine couldn't boot yesterday. This was fixed today. Could you possibly tell me why cPanel deleted entries from /etc/passwd ? I would be grateful to know.

Some people needs stability over the `easy setup ("better" than windoZe)` and don't want to become easy targest by using RH aka [R]00t [H]acked (as the past has shown this to us all :))

cPanel mixed httpd.conf in such a way so that it couldn't be called "conf" file! I would like to ask all of you cPanel techicinas what to do now ? How many backups I need for my httpd.conf ? The server is working - yes, BUT the config file is nothing else but a big mess! Really funny ...

Do you have a ticket number? Did you check the rcs log for the httpd.conf?
