Has anyone found a fix for this yet?

My server is crashing every day and I can't figure out why.

Please let me know of a fix if possible.

Thanks.
Upgrade your kernel if its a RHEL box.

I did, but no one can figure out the problem :(

This just plain sucks that my production server goes down every night at 3:00AM... I use it for webhosting, and my clients are getting verry upset about it.

Does anyone here know what the problem is? just explain to me like what causes it and i'll have my datacenter fix it.

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem as everyone here. My server has been up and down many time for almost two weeks now. I've tried the ulimit that was suggested in this thread, its been 3 hours now, didnt get locked up. We're using proftpd but still crash.

My OS is centos4.4 and I've tried changing the kernel and below is the list of kernel i've tried
2.6.9-42.16.ELsmp
2.6.9-42.0.3.ELsmp

CPU : Dual Opteron 248
RAM : 4GB

the datacenter gave me a kvm to use for a shortwhile and here's what I get before it locks up.

From the looks of it, im having problem with quota or is it I/O access?
If its I/O access, i've search in google and there are ppl claims that after they upgraded the kernel (not rpm) their server went well. I'm gonna try this option next.

would appreciate any suggestion. TIA

Have you recently upgraded kernel ?

What kernel are you using?

What cpanel version (stable)?

With our new threaded restore script we reproduced this kernel quota in August aswell. We figured out that the problem was the 2+ parallel quota processes for restoring multiple accounts at the same time with the restore script.

Solution:
We changed the configuration and our restore script setup now only one account after the next (only 1 quota process) - we never saw this again.

Of course we used always the newest redhat kernel.

EXACTLY the same problem and EXACTLY the same time!! It's definately something to do with cpanel as nothing has been changed in our server setup for months. It first happened yesterday and it's just gone again now.
