Hi folks, I'm looking for a CPanel design guide for a shared hosting setup? I believe a lot of my questions would be answered. For instance, with my current hosting provider I login to my account via their main website which then takes me into my CPanel which shows me the IP address of my website that I'm sharing with others. Does provider's login page, my own personal website and CPanel access use this same shared IP? I understand that it's the browsers destination URL that helps the server determine which website the user is trying to reach once it hits that that shared IP.

Thanks

If the login is on the Hosting Providers website, that's probably a different IP, your website and cPanel probably use the same IP. That is, unless you've been given a dedicated IP.

The documentation should be helpful I think:
All Documentation

You can use this page to search the docs as well:
Help | cPanel, Inc.

You can use this sort of query on google too:
site:docs.cpanel.net shared IP

Thanks this is a general question. How much RAM do I need to allocate to CentOS running cpanel/WHM with WHMCS? I see minimum requirements, obviously I don't want to be running at minimum. But for instance if I allocate 8GB or RAM how many shared users could I host, what about 12G or 4G.

And should I be using the same server to run MySQL and other supporting software or is it better to run a new server instance with that function dedicated to MySQL for instance?
