cPanel dns-only installation ignores flags

When installing cPanel DNS-Only via retrieval and execution of the latest-dnsonly shell script, it ignores the standard input flags, specifically the --force option.

The --force should allow for an installation despite the supported environment checks on the system.

More specifically, my system with CentOS 7 and 768MB of ram, fails to meet the check for 1024MB of ram. Using the --force flag I believe should force the installation to continue, but the installation still aborts, failing to obey the --force flag.

Hi,

The described behavior is by design. The installer will not allow installing cPanel & WHM into an unsupported environment. This applies to all variants of the product, not just DNSOnly.

Thank you for the response. Is this because the memory check is a requirement vs. recommended configuration? If not, I suppose I do not understand the purpose of the --force flag as seen in the documentation at https :// documentation .cpanel . net/display/76Docs/Installation+Guide+-+Customize+Your+Installation

--force : "Force installation on an unrecommended configuration."

That's right, failure to meet the minimum requirements makes the environment unsupported. The --force flag is defined as:

Force installation on an unrecommended configuration.

We recommend at least 2GB on CentOS 7 servers but the minimum requirement for CentOS 7 is 1GB - this can be found here: Installation Guide - System Requirements - Version 76 Documentation - cPanel Documentation

So if you had 1GB it wouldn't be recommended but it would be supported.
