    Hi,

    I was sitting here looking at the DNS servers one day, and I was wondering why exactly, when I have 15 domains within my server, why I have 30 zones? - 15 external and 15 internal..

    I was about to move to DynECT, and I need to know how many 'zones' I need to by, should I select 15 or 30 zones?

    Can you also tell me, why I both have internal and external zones?

    Best regards,
    Lucas Rolff

    Hello :)

    Are you referring to the entries for each domain name in the /etc/named.conf file? If so, it's standard to have entries under both of the following sections:

    Code:
    view "internal" {
    Code:
    view    "external" {
    You would only need to serve 15 DNS Zones, and you should only see 15 DNS Zones using the "Edit DNS Zone" option in Web Host Manager.

    Thank you.
