Is there anywhere I can get some detailed documentation on cPanel's DNSOnly? I installed it on a new build of Ubuntu Server 7.04 and just want to know like what ports need to be opened, how to access certain features, etc.

From what I've read it looks like a regular cPanel build using the same ports but I just wanted to see if there are offical documents on this.

First, if you are attempting to use cPanel DNS-Only on Ubuntu, do not expect it to work. cPanel DNS-Only is only supported on the same distributions supported by cPanel/WHM. You can find a list of supported distributions by visiting:

http://www.cpanel.net/products/cPanelandWHM/linux/sys_requirements.htm

In addition, the only official documentation regarding DNS-Only is regarding how to set up DNS clustering. This documentation is currently available at:

http://www.cpanel.net/support/docs/dnsclustering-quickstart/

cPanel DNS-Only is designed only to work with cPanel/WHM servers. It will not function as a stand-alone DNS server (meaning you cannot use it for anything practical without having it clustered with a cPanel/WHM server).

If you are experiencing issues regarding cPanel DNS-Only, feel free to submit a ticket.

See I knew it haha!!! Well after the build of the server and installing DNSOnly I also discovered it didn't work.....so I'm going to build the box with CentOS or RHEL and have another go at it to see if it will sync up with my cPanel box.

Thanks for the reply!!!
