    Hello Folks!

My cPanel DNSOnly license expired and I cannot renew it.

    [root@dns scripts]# /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt
    Updating cPanel license...Done. Update Failed!
    Error message:
The cPanel license server said that a license could not be issued for your server (500).
For more information visit: Legal Notices - cPanel Inc.

The exact message was: Failed to grant a DNSOnly license. (removed)

    Building global cache for cpanel...Done
    [root@dns scripts]# /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt
    Updating cPanel license...Done. Update Failed!
    Error message:
The cPanel license server said that a license could not be issued for your server (500).

Also I wrote a ticket to the cPanel Support (9747905) So the support told me "DNSOnly is provided to customers that have a paid cPanel & WHM license. So I may assist you further, can you please provide the IP address of a paid cPanel license?".

And this makes NO sense! If I have cPanel & WHM license I don't even need DNSOnly license because DNS Administration it's already included in cPanel & WHM license.

Summed up the situation look like this: cPanel DNSOnly license is FREE but you can get it if you have already purchased cPanel & WHM license?

    Hello @Byulent,

It's possible this relates to an issue with our licensing servers where DNSOnly licenses can in some cases appear inactive (and are thus deactivated). I'm taking a closer look now. I'll update you with more information shortly.

    Thank you.

    Hello @Michael,

    Thank you for quick response!

I just wonder did I need already to have cPanel & WHM license to assume DNSOnly license for another IP.

    Hello @Byulent,

I've reopened ticket number 9747905 on your behalf. We'll investigate to verify if it relates to the DNSOnly license issue noted in my last response and send a response to the ticket with more information as soon as possible. Additionally, we'll check the DNSOnly license requirements and confirm if anything has changed that lead to the deactivation of the license.

    Thank you.

    Hello @Byulent,

I'm glad to see the license is now activated. I've marked this thread as solved.

    Thanks!
