I have successfully updated my server from centos 7.9 to Alma Linux 8 I followed the steps you need to make sure
1. You have cleared all blockers to avoid failures.
2. Make sure you have a KVM console access or a access to your server without SSH
After 3rd reboot it took like 10 minutes to regain access to my server. I was scared because its dedicated server with no KVM access, however my provider would provide me at extra cost and could take 1 day.
However the upgrade went through without errors and it is working fine on Alma Linux 8. Thanks for creating the elevate script because it was so annoying to move users to new server because my provider not willing to transfer IP for the deidcated servers and its pain.
Any way thanks gain for the script and upgraded without any failures.
