CPanel Email Accounts are repeating email

Hi Guys, I hope that im posting in the correct forum. Im a newbie!!!

We recently upgraded a client from an ordinary CPanel hosted account to a VPS with CPanel as they required more flexibility with regard to loading up specific software that they required on their instance only.

After the migration was complete, we started experiencing email on the clients account, that recur. Everyday they will receive hundreds of emails that were already delivered.

We have since changed settings in outlook to not leave messages on the server and to receive email on an interval of 30 minutes. All worked well for the day. On inspection of the mailboxes thru CPanel, all mailboxes had "0" next to the space used for storage and when I logged in via webmail, the mailboxes were clear.

The next morning, the client called to say that they are experiencing the email recurring issue again. When logging in via webmail to the mailboxes, the old emails are back.

We have removed the instance of the old web host account as well. (The account that this account was migrated from).

Does anyone know how to rectify or fix this.

Hello :)

Check to see if the end-user is using IMAP or POP3 in their email client. Also, have they updated their name servers to point to the new provider? You may want to check /var/log/exim_mainlog to see if the messages are actually getting delivered multiple times.
