I have taken over the management of a website under cPanel and I was told to only edit within the www folder.
What is the significance of folders www & public_html? The public_html folder seems to echo the www folder.

    Hi,

to edit the Website use only all the Data into the Folder /public_html/

The Folder www are a Symlink-Folder to the Folder /public_html/

I have already done a significant amount of editing within the www folder and the site seems to be operating OK. Will I have created a problem?
