For some reason I assumed that a RedHat 6.2 install on a Sparc box might be compatible with CPanel, but that didn't seem the be the case. The installation attempted to install all the i386 binaries and of course failed. 
Safe to assume I should find some other use for this box and use an Intel/AMD based machine instead for CPanel?
