Is there a cpanel version for Microsoft Windows or a beta version I can download to test it?

No, Windows support was planned for ages ago, but nothing has really come of it yet.

Maybe if they finished their windows port, people wouldn't be even asking :)

Would have to agree on this one.

Having the ease of cPanel mixed with the requests for MSSQL/ASP hosting requests I get would make for a winner.

Have plans come to a halt? Is it going to ever happen? ....

    WILL SUPERMAN SAVE THE DAY?!

    Stay tuned..

yeah, having the same functionality of Cpanel in Windows would be a blessing and not to mention Cpanel would save us from En***, He**, Hosting*********, command ****, etc.

I am so sick and tired of dealing with second grade windows control panels that are either lacking feature or simply to buggy to work with!

So, guessing still... there's no update?

84% done with the windows port? (as of today's posting... I think it was like that when this thread started)..

I'm getting more and more and more (did I mention more) request for windows hosting, but being a unix guy, and so NOT looking forward to having to deal with straight IIS remote hosting... and would rather have the easibility and usability that cPanel offers, for the windows* hosting architecture...

Would a cpanel rep please mind commenting on this thread?

    Thanks!

If they don't want my money, I'm sure another company does. I'll keep watching and waiting until the end of Summer, don't need to switch until then anyway.

If you want a great panel for W2k/w2k3 go with HELM. I use it and its really maturing well.

I dont think the Cpanel team is going crazy for Windows, its a reall mess to work with and there are alot more web hosts running *nix's. So you gotta go where the money is.

Hmmm, they do offer a 14-day free trial. Maybe I'll try it out on a test server and see if it will do what I need. Thanks for the info. For others wanting to look at it, here's the link. I had to google for it. http://helm.webhostautomation.com

I would really go with the Windows 2003 server WEB EDITION and HELM. The windows server is something like $395 and you can get helm as a single server license for about $40 a month. They have so many licenses but most people are best off with the single server unless you expect to have many machines.

Oh, I'm not new at this. We have a dedicated T-6 line at the office with a dozen netfinity rack servers for hosting. All are running Windows 2003 Server.

I'll pass on HELM. After a week of fighting with it and then finally getting it to work right, it's definitely a 2nd rate CP (compared to CPanel) as mentioned in a previous post here. Darn thing was a pain to uninstall too.

PLEASE CPANEL, FINISH THE WINDOWS VERSION!!!!

    "Don't Hold Your Breath"

I chatted with Nick on #cpanel about how much we're all looking forward to the day when cPanel graces us with it's precense on Windows....

    The reply was similiar to:

Don't hold your breath; Windows platform is too buggy, and too slow on security.

Doesn't seem like cPanel has any plans ANYtime soon to get windows off the ground. When I asked what CP was reccomended, I was suggested to visit Plesk...

    *sigh*
