is mailwatch resource hungry

hi jonathan

does mailwatch consume a lot of server resources? i have 512mb on my server, will it make sense to install mailwatch (even though i would love to show my users graphs like those of mailwatch, to show how many spam/viri we are blocking ). how about mrtg? cud you point me to any popular howtos to install mrtg or mailwatch

MailWatch will cause extra load for various reasons:

1. You have to enable spam logging in MailScanner
2. You have to write and store full emails in quarantine
3. The data has to be stored in a MySQL database

If you're after some statistics, then you might want to try Vispan which is easisr on your server and much easier to install:
