Hello I been complaining off and on to my host in regards to this issue with files uploading then vanishing...

I use my hosting to load remote content for my Half Life and Half Life2 gameservers.

Basically what it is someone joins my server they get all the needed files from my website as to speed up file download times and takes lag load off servers..

My problem is I have a mod for half life and has a lot of maps that end with .bsp like mapnameexample.bsp The issue is I have around 400 maps in one folder and now when I try to upload more maps the map I upload either vanishes or a map that is already in the folder vanishes.

Is this in relation to cPGS? If so, I'll move this to the cPGS forum.

I am a customer of a webhosting service and this isn't the first host that uses Cpanel that this issue was reproduced it's happened with several hosts...

It's either a Linux issue, Cpanel issue or the program the Cpanel uses for the FTP...

I have uploaded files from home on standard broadband and from a 100mb dedicated server all had the same issue when uploading files same type directory...

It's a bug somewhere and needs to be fixed and it's not a host related issue it's something else I am sure not that I am a programmer but it's really annoying...

My host cannot fix it because all they do is say the files are there and they aren't I use the Cpanel file viewer as well as my FTP and have used almost every type of FTP program and those vanished files are not there...

Anyways I never had this issue with a windows server....

    Thank You...

It is host related, as they run the server you're hosted on. Not sure of what they told you exactly, but they should have some sort of logging that could be checked to find out more about the issue. If they say the files are there but you can't see them, you might ask why you can't see them. Is it a permissions or ownership issue? Not sure.

Additionally your host should be the one asking questions here...

I am puzzled as to why they are not addressing this issue for you.

So to be more specific, you have issue's uploading a large number of files?

And you think they are disapearing, but your hosts says they are there?

Sounds to me a pebcak, but can you be more specific when it happens?
