We are using Fantastico on our cpanel servers.

I've noticed that some scripts can be installed directly from cpanel OR from Fantastico.

For example phpBB can be installed via cpanel or via Fantastico.

So, the question is when there's a choice, should we diaable the install in Fantastico or disable the one in CPanel?

I find that Fantastico tends to be just that little bit quicker in making new versions of scripts available compared to cPanel.

And the CPanel/WHM versions can be upgraded system-wide with only a few clicks. Although I'm not sure of the robustness of those upgrades in other than vanilla circumstances (better have good backups!).

using either cPanel or Fantastico to install Vanilla

This is a fabulous forum, keep up the great work:)

I am trying to install a Vanilla forum after upload and extracting it. I am also trying to use Fantastico De Luxe. Since my cPanel has FDL connected to phpBB and SMF only, can I do / add something to install Vanilla?

I can be contacted on con.kantzos@gmail.com

If you have any queries or requests, please feel free to ask. I will help you as much as I can.

    Sincerely yours,

    Con.

If you are looking to add something to cPanel's "one-click installation" screen then you are welcome to create a cPAddon for the application you want an installer for.

    Here's a link to the documentation: http://www.cpanel.net/docs/cpaddons/
