I would like to buy a CPanel licence for my dedicated server..but I\'m the only one that uses it and I don\'t really want to pay $99/month for the licence. Anyone know of a way I can LEGALLY get a licence for cheaper for my dedicated server? The host that hosts my dedicated server said they will install it for me but I must purchase the licence.
I believe the only way to get it cheaper is to go through a distributor (e.g. site5.com or liquidweb.com)
You can contact them about it... getting a dedicated server through THEM will allow you to get a cheaper cpanel license rate.
Does all this means that nobody can get a FREE version of Cpanel. Does everibody need to buy it to a distributor?
What is the link Layer 1 and Layer 2 on the main Cpanel.net page? Isen´t it a isntallation of the Cpanel?
I am in the same situation as acer2k and I think is stupid to pay $99 all month for nothing! Don´t you think so?

How can I become a CPanel distributor? I would like to know because I\'m starting my new hosting company soon and I will offer dedicated servers and I want to offer CPanel..And..How much are distributors paying for this software? Cpanel costs 99.00 for a Lic. outside the NOC of the distributors, you don\'t just \"become\" a distributor, these are companies that have been envolved with the cpanel development almost from the beginning.
If you wish to get Cpanel cheaper, you need to colo with one of the companies distributing it .. peroid
And please, stop the mumbo jumbo of \"I only pay XX for plesk\" .. well then GET PLESK .. nobody owes you anything, that\'s the price for Cpanel, it\'s either take it or leave it .. furthermore, since it runs on Linux, people seem to think that .. like linux .. it shoudl be free !! (or almost) .. well boys and girls, get a reality check, this is business, an that\'s why the pricing is as is, the distributors whant you to colocate with them, not with somebody else.

This is the only host I have ever found that actually cares about its members. I\'m not saying there arent others, Im just saying this is the only one I have ran across. Most hosts are greedy, and don\'t give a crap about its members. As long as they get your money
