I am just writing to ask if anyone would have any knowledge on the following query.

If I were to purchase a licence for cPanel and associate it with my server IP then decide to move it to a different server, can this be achieved or does the cPanel need to stay on the same server it was originally associated with?

If you buy the license directly from us you can always transfer it (within reason). Most resellers allow the same.

If you acquired a license directly from cPanel, you can change the IP address on your purchased license by logging into your cPanel Store account that you created when purchasing your license at:

http://www.cPanel.net/store

In the Manage Account menu of the cPanel Store click on Manage Licenses and next to your license, you will see the Transfer link, click on that to transfer your license to a new IP address. While this is generally a seamless and instantaneous process, please note that license transfers are subject to review.

If you acquired licensing from a reseller, you will need to contact them regarding their policies regarding these matters.
