I installed Apache 2.2.4 and pointed it to my DocumentRoot. Now I am trying to get into www.mysite.com/cpanel and it asks for username and PW. Is there a generic UN and PW (for admin) that I am supposed to be using? If so, where can I find the .conf file?

    Please help.

If you are trying to login as user, supply the username and its password.

Admin operations are performed under WHM and not CPANEL ...

    http://youraddress/whm
    http://youraddress:2086
    https://youraddress:2087

If you want to login to a CPANEL account at /cpanel or port 2082,
you need to first create the account login from your WHM menu.

If you don't know the root login to your machine or the reseller
WHM login (if applicable) then you got bigger concerns.

    that's where I am stuck

On either /whm or /cpanel, it is asking me for administrator name and password. I really only have two sets of these.

So should I just uninstall Apache and start over?

What's the root password for your server?

(No, I am not asking you to post your root password --
I mean "Do you know what your root password is?" -----
Or better "How did you install Apache if you don't know your root password?")

    my UN and PW

I always use Majoritywhip as a UN and I usually use my default PW unless there is a minimum requirement (8 characters or more). In this case I would have just used the defaults. But these don't seem to work. I guess I screwed something up.
