Hi,

I'm on a shared hosting business account in Australia. I submitted a support ticket 6.5 hours ago containing the following:

  • Login in to cPanel
  • Regardless of link I click, I'm looped back to the cPanel login screen
  • Enter login credentials - access cPanel again and are redirected to the url of (cPanel) link clicked
  • Clicking any link within that url and again I'm looped back to cPanel login screen, again.

All support are doing is resetting the "password" and telling me to try again.

Obviously it's not a "password" issue... or I wouldn't be able to login, period.

Has anyone here got any idea why it could be doing this, so I can just contact support again with a possible solution, because domain.com obviously are clueless.

NB - Have tried this on Chrome, IE and Firefox with identical results. Have also tried it on another ISP account and I get the same results.

Cheers

Dave

To be clear, you can login, but cannot click anything, is that correct?

Is this host using some sort of custom cPanel style?
When you get looped back to the login screen, is there any error message?
When you first login, if you can, can you see on left side menu the version of cPanel on that server?

Hello :)

You mentioned contacting a support team. Is this in reference to your hosting provider, or did you open a support ticket directly with cPanel? Do you have root access to this server?

Thank you.

Hi All,

Thanks for your assistance much appreciated :)

I wanted to post back, to say, I fixed the issue. Though sadly, with no help from my hosting provider. Maybe someone else will have this issue. So I've posted the fix, below.

I gained access to cPanel via the domain's dedicated IP. The loop-back issue was not present. domain.com is partnered with CloudFlare and within cPanel, it allows you to easily set up this service. I disabled CF and the domain returned to normal operation.

Checking the raw log files, I found multiple instances of the CloudFlare IP (108.162.xxx.xxx) accessing cPanel and also my wordpress backend. It looks like CF was caching everything, even https requests. Hence, instead of logging into cPanel and WP directly, with my own static IP address, I was accessing these pages through cloudflare and that was causing the loop-back issue.

Cheers

Dave
