I have two users who, after upgrading their browsers to IE 6.0, can no longer access their CPanels -- they don't get the login box, instead it immediately goes to the &Access Denied& page. The security settings for their browsers is set to &Automatic Login with Username and Password& for logons. They can access CPanel without any problems using Netscape.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Are they trying to get in via regular port 80 connection (/controlpanel or /cpanel) ?

Try /etc/rc.d/init.d/cpanel3 restart .......

In your process list is &cpaneld& running?
Is there a process bound to &2083& running as well?

Try killing portsentry and restarting cpanel with the above syntax as well.

Hi CPanel is running and everyone else can access their control panels. The users who have trouble are all running IE 6.0 with Windows XP or Windows ME. They receive the following error messages:

Server: cpaneld/4.4
Connection: close Date: Tue, 12 Mar 2002 21:11:43 -0500 Content-type:
text/html Cache-Control: no-cache Pragma: no-cache

or

The Page Cannot Be Displayed

They can access the control panel using Netscape but not IE 6.0
