Hi Everyone,
I currently have a "Complete Account Backup" compressed weekly "Complete Account Backup" backup routine running and backed up to another remote server.

I would also like to add and additional "Daily" backup routine for just Databases? In turn having 2 backup routines running at the same time?

I have tried using JetBackup but don't like it... So if it can be achieved through the cPanel Backup that would be awesome.

If not, can anyone recommend another backup solution? FYI I have looked into Comet backup and Acronis but looking for something simple.

Thanks in advance.

Hey there! As you've found, there isn't an automated way to do this within the cPanel or WHM interfaces, so anything like this would need to use a custom-written script.

Can you let me know specifically what you didn't like about JetBackup?

You also can always submit a feature request using the link in my signature and I can have our team review it.

Hi CPRex,
Thank you for your reply.
I would consider JetBackup again, though the issues off the top of my head were: (perhaps this is achievable but couldn't work it out within my trial period)

1. Couldn't find and option to create SFTP Destination for remote backups
2. Remove redundant backups from the panel - from what I could see you could only let the system do that by altering the retention days.

If I could achieve:
1. SFTP Compressed Weekly: backups of complete cPanel accounts / by account + Compressed Daily: database only backup to a remote server without leaving a copy on the main server I would look at using it again.
2. The ability to remove old backups manually that would be even better.

JetBackup has details on the sFTP system in WHM here:

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "redundant" backups, as normally I would expect the retention settings to handle that, as you mentioned. Can you get me more specifics on that portion of the request?

Hi LBID,

Just to add to cPRex's response, while SFTP is supported on JetBackup 4, please note that SFTP support for JetBackup 5 is also already in Progress!

With regards to manually deleting backups, we do highly recommend cleaning up backups via the retention settings as cPRex mentioned, with that said, you may also do so by deleting backups directly from your destination then running a reindex on JetBackup ( JB4 | JB5 )

As with regards to deleting backups directly from the JetBackup UI which I believe you are referring to, may I point you to the following feature request thread for our team's insight regarding this matter.

I hope you find the following information helpful.

Thank You.
