    [SOLVED] cPanel MySQL conntection problems

    Hey guys,

So I recently got cPanel on my new VPS and everything went fine.

But when I went to install MyBB I got an error saying it couldnt connect to the database. So I went and tried phpbb and that gave the same error.

So then I restarted the MySQL server and tried again but still no luck.

Then I updated to the newest version of MySQL and still no luck.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks,

    - Jason

How were you installing it? Via cPanel, or a script like Fantastico or were you installing it manually, in that you uploaded the files, created the database and user manually and then edited the config.php for the scipt so it knew what DB to look at?

    Funny you may ask.

I tried serveral times via fantastico and no luck so I then did it manually for several scripts. All the details were correct.

I have made a script just to test the connection and its showing up that it cant connect.

Not enough Info to go on there. What happened when you tried this, was there an error mesage provided?

What details? Did you create the database first and add a user to the database from your cPanel?

I don't think its issue with the mysql service but yes defiantly an issue with the database user and password you have used in connection string. Check config file created for MyBB and try to add database user once again with the correct password and assigned database user to respective database.

If you are still having any problem with the database connection then use following script and use respective database user name, password and database name to check connection string is correct or not?

    SOLVED!

    Thanks guys,

The problem was litespeed that was installed. The PHP didnt match the current of the MySQL. So when I switched to Apache everything went fine.

    Problem Solved and thanks again.
