This is awesome (the idea, not the actual addon as I have not tested it).
Yeah it may not seem right to do under a hosting environment, but cool as he77 anyways, and who knows, may provide a new niche in the market for site/game hosting in one place.
Though that would be more likely if there were some low resource games supported as well.

If anyone would like to suggest new games to support just let me know.

This addon allows your clients to install, configure and run game servers from within cpanel. As the server admin you can limit each client as to what gameserver(s) they can use and limit the number of players on each server.

I bet this would get very popular with further work including things like available ports such as TISolutions has mentioned. Although we could just provide it to IP based sites only as a work around, but being able to keep from wasting IP's would be better!

Looking forward to the advancement and further development on this addon!

For anyone having problems with saving changes in WHM using IE or other windows browsers, redownload the file http://network3.net/cPanelGS.tgz and then:

tar xzvf cPanelGS.tgz
tar xzvf whm.tgz
cp -f addon_gs.cgi /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/

I'll be working on the suggestions I've gotten so far and implementing them. I'll update this thread on the next release (should be monday or tuesday (11,12th Oct).

Thank you to all those who have sent email also, I've gotten several good ideas, keep them coming please :)

Any chance of getting Quake 3 Engine support for games like Q3, EF, EF2, JK2, JKA, COD, etc...

I am hoping that once you get support for Q3, then all the others it is just a matter of changing certain info like the executeables. (note: Just started to learn programming with C++, so know enough to make me dangerous. :D )

An idea to make roll out faster. Just have a field to manually enter in arugment variables to the exec file. That way you do not really have to fully research each game and also allows each user to add in mods they want. Also this would be good to have for the games you already have support for. Just a thought.

New Version

Hi all,

Small release here..
I set up a basic site for updates on the progress and latest downloads and such : http://gs.cpanel.net/

Current version fixes problems with not being able to save values in WHM from IE, an uninstall script and limits resellers to seeing only their own users (root can still control all users' limits)

I'll be adding new gameservers next along with looking into a port range system for gameservers that support it (suprisingly not all do :/) for easy configuration with firewalls.

Thanks for the feedback so far!

I run a Tactical ops clan: and having unreal tournament (tac is an unreal tournament mod) supported would be FANTASTIC!!

Nice stuff!

The tactical ops community is a small but very dedicated one!
