    Hi,

Just need to know if FreeBSD is doing well now on cPanel.

Does cPanel have any major problem or incompatibility with FreeBSD? I'm considering switching to FreeBSD.

Any feedback would be highly appreciated!

BTW, FreeBSD 4.9 or 5.x? Does Urchin, Fantastico and RVSkin work seamlessly with FreeBSD?

We are in the process of switching to FreeBSD and have one production server using it at this time.

    Bugs:
    Jailshell under 5.2.x.

    Compatibility:
Urchin (works as poorly as it does under linux)
    Fantastico - no problems observed

    Observations:
Seems to handle the load a lot better than Redhat Linux did.

There was a serious bug listed in the changelog (and in these forums). You should use the EDGE release (or manually make changes to your configuration) if you are going to use FreeBSD until the changes are incorporated into STABLE releases.

Here is a link to the bug report.

May I know how much better it handled? And why would you say that? Any particular reason?
