We host several web and mail servers we are migrating to cpanel. We intend to host cpanel on a multi-server VMware environment. We chose this route to give us redundancy, quick deployment, and better security. What I cant seem to wrap my head around is that cpanel requires a registered address be on the server, yet if I place that server behind a firewall, the actual IP on the server is behind NAT, and thus not a public address. Is there any way of achieving this, either through Nat, VLAN, or slight-of-hand? I am willing to place these servers on the public network if need-be, but that reduces the advantage of isolating the servers behind the firewall. We are using Cisco ASA for firewalls and Cisco 2800's for gateways.
Any input would be helpful.
