cpanel password strength checker, is this scoring too high?

    111 scores 40
    1337 scores 50
    1234 scores 50
    password scores 30
    password1 scores 40
    p@ssw0rd scores 55
    asdf1234 scores 60
    abc123 scores 60
    ab12 scores 40
    aa11 scores 40
    a1a1a1 scores 60

It seems to me these scores are way to high.

1234 and abc123 should be like a 10, does anyone else think they are too high?

I think it depends on what you have set as the password strength in WHM.

For instance, "password" may score 5 or it may score 40, depending on whether you hvae the password strength in WHM set high or low.

The algorithm was overhauled for cPanel 11.25 These values will not score as high. Except p@ssw0rd, that one still scores high.

The definition of a good password is hard to guess but easy to remember.A good password will contain four parts:1.at least two captial letters 2.at least one lower-case letter 3.at least one number 4.at least two symbols

When your domain contains a dash "-" the you score > 70, mean cpanel should check if password contains domain name itself.
