What is cPanel Pro? Please PLEASE do not go the way of Ensim and offer two levels of cPanel.

Hopefully DarkOrb will let us in on the secret, of what Cpanel pro is.

What I am used to seeing is a company slap the word "Pro" or "Deluxe" on a product as an excuse for a price increase, upgrade fee, or whatever.

I hope cPanel is not going to pull a stunt like that.

Got the hint for "Deluxe" :D
We have no upgrade fee, the price increase affects new purchases and license renewals. Also the price increase was not due to the name addition "De Luxe" but due to the 15 new features which made this product De Luxe and placed it above any competition.

And, BTW: Anyone knows what CPanel Pro means?

Not directed strictly at you, Kosmo, and I am not even saying that in youre case it wasn't worth it, but if I had been tagerting you directly, I would have said "De Luxe!" :D

My specific beef is with Ensim, in that they finally added the features they needed and then they jacked the price WAY up, so those of us who were loyal to Ensim for a long time even though it was short a little on feratures were really REALLY hacked off when the price jump came.

It is why I am using cPanel today.

I do not want to cause a panic, but I hope that Nicl clues us in sooner rather than later.

I have one box with 8.5.3-RELEASE 4 and it has two new features. One is a submit a support ticket.

    /frontend/x/cpanelpro/support.html

The other is a Image manager

    frontend/x/cpanelpro/images.html

Niether work and do not know where the docs are on these.

Also, under General server info, it now says
    cPanel Pro 0.2 (BETA)

This is all I notice different under users c-panel.

    Thanks

Good info to know. And at least it looks like Pro will be coming.

    Hopefully just a name change...

If it's just a name change, does that mean that everyone using cPanel currently will be auto-upgraded to cPanel 'Pro' and then a cPanel (cheaper) will exist and also a cPanel Pro?

It seems that there's a conversion coming on for cPanel -> cPanel Pro, and the introduction of a Lite version maybe?

I detest being kept in the dark and being forced to speculate!

    C'mon Nick, end the speculation!

Maybe nick hired the PR guy from microsoft, and is now going to be releasing named versions rather than numbered versions...

    Cpanel Pro
    Cpanel 2004
    Cpanel ME
    Cpanel XP

    Possibilities are endless :D

    He can KEEP cPanel ME!

Combining the bugs from cPanel with the Bugs from Windows ME results in the most dangerous piece of software ever written!

    Hmm...

Image resizing? Didn't know that was that big of a demand for that type of item... Maybe for image hosting services? Be interested in knowing more about the support request thing and the 'boxtrapper' though..

There's gotta be more to Pro than that.

Though I never did figure out what warranted the jump to version 8, so there ya go. :)

I believe the main point of cpanel pro, is to show developers just how easy it is to create add-on features for cpanel.
