    Hi,

    I have enabled security questions in WHM. After that whenever a user login to cPanel they are prompting for a set of security questions. How can i disable it? Is there any way to reset the security questions for individual cPanel accounts?

    Thanks in advance.

    You can disable this by deselecting Limit logins to verified IP Addresses in Home » Security Center » Configure Security Policies. This is a server-wide setting; there is no way to enable or disable it for individual cPanel accounts.

    The questions and answers are stored in $HOME/$USER/.cpanel/securitypolicy/questions/, where:

    • $HOME = the actual home partition mount point (/home, /home2, etc.), and;
    • $USER = the actual cPanel username.

    However, the answers are not stored in plain text in that directory, for security.

    Hi Jared,

    Thanks for the help. Is there any way i can change/reset the security questions for an individual cPanel user? What kind of encryption is used to store the answers?
