My cpanel server is well slow when trying to log in.

Like when loggin into SSH I put in my username and 8 seconds later it asks for password, then 4 seconds later it then logs me in. Then everything is fast. Also in FTP it does the same thing, but after its't logged in it is very fast.

It also happens with WHM/CPanel it takes a long while for it to log in, but once you are in everything is fast.

Now this is the scary part, PHP, it takes a long, long long time for it to load, and well this is bad.

&Generated in 15.686 seconds. 23 queries. Zlib compression enabled.&

This is not good, this happened from the first day that I got this server, and well I just can't figure this out.

I am hoping someone can shine some light to my eyes, I have searched and well couldn't find my solution, e-mailed my license dist. well no response yet.

Please help.

sounds like a dead dns server in the first choice in the resolv.conf file.

This problem is most likly caused because you never updated your /etc/resolv.conf after installing cpanel. CPanel's installer recreated teh resolv.conf file with their own dns servers in it, Not sure why exactly they do this (wish it would just check to see if it can resolve domains and if not exit w/ a error). anyway, if you dont change it after the installation it all your domain name resolutions run very very slow. Either run named on your system or get your NOC's local Resolvers.
