    Hello

Im thinking of moving to a VPS from my reseller.
Do I have to install apache on the VPS?
Or will that already be install and just be a case of installing cPanel?

    Thanks
    Tom

When cPanel is installed, it will install all the necessary services for you. However depending on your sites, it will still require a bit of tweaking/optimization.

You'll also have to secure your VPS, cPanel offers a few things that you can do to help, but there's a bit of stuff that you need to do manually also.

To add to Voltar's statement, Apache should not be present on the system prior to cPanel/WHM installation. When cPanel/WHM attempts to install Apache, this could cause a conflict with an existing installation of Apache and cause issues.

It is easier to install software than uninstall software, hence my recommendation is to install the OS with just the development packages prior to installing cPanel/WHM.

If you desire, we have a comprehensive pre-installation and installation guide at: http://www.cPanel.net/install.html
