I am having problems with my cpanel SSL certificate. Every time someone access ssl under the certificate such as on port 2083 and 2087 the following error happens:

&Unable to establish a secure connection to 'domain name' There us a problem with the security certificate from that site (The Identity certificate name is not correct)

It then allows me to continue or stop.

This was never a problem before. I am not sure what changed. If this was ssl on apache I know how to fix it but I have no idea were to look on cpanel. Is their something in /scripts/fix* to change this?

Thanks for your help;

You will need to buy a certificate for your domain name and install it in WHM if you want the warning to go away.

I have a certificate for secure.eccentrichosting.net Have you changed something that I need to use this certificate for cpanel. Even when my clients connect at
www.domainname.com:2083
They still get the error
Does cpanel not use the same server as it's validation server. Even when I log into WHM under 2087 it gives me the error everytime I click on a different link.

Sorry to bother on this but maybe I messed something up. In the year and a half that I have had cpanel on this server this has never acted like this.

Thanks again;
wade

If you would like to install your own SSL for WHM use this menu:
in WHM -& SSL/TLS -& Change cPanel/WHM Certificate

SSL web certificate is offered for FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Names) i.e SSL certificate for secure.domain.com ; if you use it on www.domain.com it returns warning message during secure http connection

If you would like to use an SSL web certificate for multiple hosts of a domain like www.domain.com, corporate.domain.com, secure.domain.com you have to buy Wildcard Web Certificate (more expensive than normal single FQDN certificates)

However if you install it for whm and users try to access whm securely by https://userdomain.com:2087 then it will return warning messages due to different domain names (SSL)

I generated a CSR for my SERVER NAME srv08.mydomain.com so that i wouldnt see the warning when trying to connect at srv08.mydomain:2087 After installing is under WHM -& SSL/TLS -& Change cPanel/WHM Certificate and getting a successful installation, i am still seeing the warnings. All my users will be using http://srv08.mydomain.com:2087 to log in, is that correct?

What is that warning message?
We’ve done that and when using https://server.serverdomain.dom:2087 we get no warning message.
