[Cpanel::TailWatch] [SQLERR] Could not prepare query

The past few days, have received emails like the following:

cPanel ChkServd Service Monitor [email protected]

12:29 PM (26 minutes ago)

The chkservd sub-process with pid 13722 was running for 302 seconds. The sub-process was terminated as it exceeded the time between checks of 300 seconds. Please check /var/log/chkservd.log and /usr/local/cpanel/logs/tailwatchd_log to discover the cause.

/var/log/chkservd.log was created several days ago and is zero/0 bytes.

/usr/local/cpanel/logs/tailwatchd_log has the following at the tail end:

[2012-01-14 08:58:53 -0500] [Cpanel::TailWatch] [SQLERR] Could not prepare query, logging SQL to /var/cpanel/sql

DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Lost connection to MySQL server during query at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/TailWatch/Eximstats.pm line 354, <GEN2> line 98253.

[2012-02-14 09:34:04 -0500] [Cpanel::TailWatch] [SQLERR] Could not execute query, logging SQL to /var/cpanel/sql

This log file goes back to 2009 and contains many instances of:

[Cpanel::TailWatch] [SQLERR] Could not prepare query, logging SQL to /var/cpanel/sql

Not sure if there is more than one problem here.

Did you find a resolution to this? I've started seeing the same issue as of today.

The failed SQL is inserting into the eximstats.smtp table - looking at the SQL itself it appears OK, so not sure what the problem is here.
