While manually updating CPanel (/scripts/upcp) the process frezzes while updating webalizer, specially when the dots start showing:
..........
..........
..........
..........
..........
..........
..........
..........
..........
..........

We have port filtering in place at the router level, was wondering if there is any specific port used by the updates that we should open.

Thanks.

I opened this thread almost 2 months ago and still no one from Cpanel has replied.

Please people, my updates are not working. Features are not being installed because of this. All I need is for someone from Cpanel to tell me what ports are used by the updates.

Thank you.

As far as I know 99.999 % of all of this is done via normal HTTP (port 80), and rsync .... which is:

(/etc/services)

rsync 873/tcp
rsync 873/udp

BTW rsync freakin rulez. :p

Anyone from Darkorb have any insight on this?

Thank you feanor. You should come work for Cpanel. :p

I will open 873 for tcp and udp, that is more than likely going to solve my problem. :)

Thanks again!
