cPanel/WHM does not recompile Apache or PHP as part of the upgrade process, so your custom apps related to Apache/PHP should survive the upgrade.

As for things not related to Apache/PHP, if it is something cPanel/WHM is upgrading then it will be upgraded to a version known to be compatible with cPanel/WHM version 11.

    Hello,

Our question probably seems a little silly, but Ill ask anyways,

    On our server, were running
    php5
    with ffmpeg,
    imagemagik
    openssl
    curl,
    etc,

If we update cpanel is it going to undo all the optional software that we have installed?

I know its a noobish question, but I just need to know for sure.

    Thanks,

Hey thankyou very much for the reply :)

I do however have one more question,

The basic reason we were going to run a update for cpanel is because

#1 Ftp is acting really wierd now, as it makes us login using username@domain.com

#2 3 of our resellers as well as us, can no longer add domains to WHM, I tried it myself to see if it was a limit problem, but thats not it, as Im experiencing the same problem,

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks Again

With issues like those, I'd recommend submitting a ticket so we can get those resolved. I know the FTP login thing was supposed to have been resolved in a cPanel 11 build a while ago. The tickets we're getting on this issue now seem to deal more with a server mis-configuration than a bug in our software. Nevertheless, the technicians know a lot more about that stuff than I do hence the recommendation to submit a ticket.
