cPanel updated to version 56

We have 3 cPanel servers that were all updated to v.56 yesterday. We were on the 'Release' release tier, but are now on the 'Current' release tier. Tried to find release notes, but the release notes page is once again coming up blank.

So, 1) why did release tier change, and 2) where are the release notes?

1. cPanel should not automatically change the update tier on a system. Please post the output from the following command on one of the affected servers:

cat /etc/cpupdate.conf

2. The release notes for cPanel 56 are found at:

Could you verify where in-particular you are attempting to view the release notes and notice a blank page?

1. Are you sure it's not possible that someone changed the update preferences on those servers to use the "Current" build tier at some point in time? I've seen no other reports of this happening, and it's not reproducible on test servers. Could you review /usr/local/cpanel/logs/access_log or the bash history on your server to see if someone manually changed the update preferences?

Nobody made any changes. Issue is moot.

Feel free to open a support ticket so we can take a closer look and attempt to determine how the server switched to the "Current" build tier. You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome.
