Whenever I enter my /http://ommune.com url/cpanel and hit the enter button then it changes to a strange url.

Why does this happen ?

Any idea folks.
Thanks.

Please provide the initial, then the subsequent urls, since we would not know what strange url you are getting without being told the exact urls.

Your Server Administrator has set that domain.com/cpanel URL to redirect to a secure port on the server. This is normal.

If you are the Server Admin this setting is in WHM > Tweak Settings.

/cpanel is an alias that redirects to the cPanel port. For example, http://mydomain.com/cpanel will redirect to either http://mydomain.com:2082 or https://mydomain.com:2083, depending on whether the administrator has set the redirection to go to a secure port or not.

I presume this is the "strange URL" you are talking about. This is normal, expected behavior. /cpanel, /webmail and /whm are provided only as a convenience, so you do not have to remember the port numbers, and these aliases will redirect to the correct ports and the URL in the browser's address bar will change.
