Cpanel uses way to much memory. Upgrading to Apache 1.3.27 is only marginally better but not by much. Under 1.3.26 our memory consumption was hovering around 35%. Under 1.3.27 and with a new build its around 30% at all times. How can this be? Our server is running the very basic installation of Cpanel. What would happen if i installed Tomcat? We dont even have any sites on the server. MRTG should not be consuming as much memory as it does. No sites, new Apache build, huge memory consumption based on whats running on the server amounts to lemon server.

How much memory you have on the box?

on our most busy box with 300+ users, 1GB memory is always upto 70% free.
