Searched the forums but most were regarding redirects instead of search friendly optimization.

I have one main domain name, and an additional one
as parked. In regards to search engines, I’ve read that:

    These two methods work:
    - A 301 redirect implemented on the server, OR
    - A <meta name="robots" content="NOindex,follow"> tag on each page along with a <a href="http://www.newsite.com/">new site</a> link on each old page.

    These should be avoided:
    - a META REFRESH tag. Don't do that!
    - a 302 redirect. Use only the "301" method.

What redirect is implemented through cpanel, a 301 or 302?
    (For Parked and Addon Domains)

    Go on, have a guess
Neither. Parked domains are Aliased off of the main domain in the VirtualHost of the main domain. Addon domains have their own VirtualHost container.

Or do you mean, what happens if you redirect pages within a parked or addon domain? In those cases it would be identical to a main domain since neither are redirected in themselves.
