cPanel ver. 68.0.12 Create Account Error

I have been trying to create a new account after updating to cPanel version 68.0.12 and I am getting a strange error.

When I select Automatically Detect Configuration (recommended), it displays error:

'A fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this device.'

And then a load screen that displays: 'Verifying MX Records and Setting up Databases'

However, any of the other three options allows me to create a cPanel account. For some reason it is only when I select Automatically Detect Configuration (recommended) that it causes an error.

Has anyone ran into this? Any insight on this issue would be appreciated!

Hi,

You will have to check the complete error logs behind the scene in the cpanel error logs:

# tail -f /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_logs

After you execute above command, try to create a new account and check what error is occurring and send the error here so it can be looked upon.

Thank you for the speedy response! Below is what I found when I tailed the cPanel error_log after trying to create an account:

Here is the think to be focused on. it appears some sort of perl issue occurring. Submit a ticket to the cPanel with the logs provided in this section.

Hello,

That error message typically occurs when you are using a system without an IPv6-enabled kernel. This is required per the following document:

Installation Guide - System Requirements - Documentation - cPanel Documentation

IPv6 kernel support
cPanel & WHM and cPanel DNSONLY require that your kernel includes the ipv6 module, or includes that functionality directly within the kernel.
  • If your kernel does not include it in the ipv6 module, the AF_INET6 address family must also be available.
  • Most distributed kernels include this support by default. However, some users of custom kernels may experience problems.
If this is a VPS, check with your VPS hosting provider to see if they can enable IPv6 in the kernel.

Thank you.

Hello,

To update, we tentatively plan to remove the cPanel update blocker for systems lacking IPv6-kernel support and allow these systems to update through cPanel version 70 as part of internal case CPANEL-17617. We will then reintroduce the update blocker as part of cPanel version 72. Additionally, internal case LC-8286 is open to allow the creation of new accounts on IPv4-only systems. I'll monitor both of these cases and update this thread with more information as it becomes available.

Thank you.
