    Hi

Could someone please tell me whether our server is up to date with the latest release of CPanel and WHM? Our installation is:

    cPanel 11.24.4-R33609 - WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9

Is the RELEASE branch of CPanel recommended for production servers?

I cannot find the changelog detailing release 33609. Could someone post a link, please?

    Many thanks
    Halie

It'll be posted there at some point, they are not posted in real time as the releases come out though. Basically you can look at the other releases to get an idea whats coming down the pipe.
Edge and Current are very close in releases, Release, and then finally, Stable.

I think most would tell you Release is fine for a production environment.

Which is more up-to-date? C33609 or R33609? I understand the differences between the different version types but if I am on C33609 (which I am) but R33609 is out (if R33609 is newer) but I don't know about it, then how I can I keep my server as up-to-date as possible? We need a more real-time like changelog so we can see which is the latest version? I'm very particular about running the MOST up-to-date software on my server(s).

Thanks for your reply, Infopro - it makes it a bit clearer.
Although I understand that the changelog is not updated in real time, the closest version number to mine is only 33530. What happened to the 79 releases between this and mine?

For near real-time information on build numbers themselves, simply visit http://layer2.cPanel.net and scroll to the bottom of the page to view the latest available builds.

If you always want to run the latest version, simply enable automatic updates. You can do this by going to WHM -> Server Configuration -> Update Config.

It is important to understand that a difference of 79 in build numbers does not imply there have been 79 releases. Build numbers are used internally by our development team, hence you will see "jumps" in the build numbers between releases, as you see in the changelog.

That all makes very much more sense now.
    Thank you for clarifying it!
    Best wishes

It would still be nice to be able to see what was changed within a few days of the upgrade being made available.

My data center "upgrated" me from Stable_33345 to Release_33609 to correct a problem I was having. This was a few days ago, I am still looking to see what was in the release version that may have fixed my problem, but no details are posted on the 28th for the Jan 24th update.

    The changelog has now:
    Stable 33345
    Release 33472
    Current 33531
    Edge 33527
    All from Jan 22nd.

This is upsetting as I like to know what changes are being made BEFORE I update, not waiting a few days and possibly having to tweak something that was changed (or added) to a setting I do not desire.

The changelog updates were quite timely for the past several months, I'm not sure what is causing the delayed update to the changelog page now.

I agree and would like to see the changelogs when the updates are released. This would be very helpful in making the decision to upgrade or not.
