    Hello guys,

We are currently setting up our own provisioning system for cloud based servers. We are currently looking for the best way to generate a cPanel template

We don't really want to install cPanel on every provision, that's a lot of bandwidth for you (and us) that could be prevented.. What should be the steps that we should run on the file system when it runs for the first time to "reset" WHM entirely?

The hostname, etc. are all properly setup on the first server boot up, that's handled by our provisioning system, but if we install it on a template that's hostname is server.cloud.com -- It would create issues as the configured hostname would be that, etc.

    Please let us know!

Do you mean the wizard itself or something besides the hostname? The hostname is detected from /etc/hosts and /etc/sysconfig/network, so that's not a major issue. You can also make changes to /etc/wwwacct.conf file for the HOST entry on what it shows.

For the settings in WHM > Tweak Settings, if you want something specifically set besides the normal default values, you can modify /var/cpanel/cpanel.config file, then run:

    Code:
    /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/bin/whostmgr2 --updatetweaksettings
Finally, to make the original WHM Initial Setup Wizard run again for any node, you can simply move /etc/.whostmgrft and that will re-initiate the Setup Wizard that you get the first time you load up WHM.

I see.. that's good, what about any other stuff such as the IP address configured in httpd.conf and other places?

The IP lets configured in "Basic cPanel & WHM Setup"

Option: * The IP address (only one address) that will be used for setting up shared IP virtual hosts.
Setting an IP not associated with this server is possible but not advised.
