    Hi,

Just setup a hosting account and the client needed an SSL cert. Changed the domain to a dedicated IP in WHM and got the SSL going no problem. Site works, SSL works, FTP works...but, client cannot access cPanel or webmail via his domain. On the shared IP of the server, all domains can access cPanel and webmail by entering IANA — Example domains and IANA — Example domains.

Since this domain is on a different IP, that doesn't work. They can only view cPanel or webmail by going to the IP address and port.

I know there is a way to have this work but I don't know what to do.

From your description something fundamental may be wrong, by default I believe all domains on the server regardless of ip should function with the /cpanel and /webmail links.

If you have it enabled, can the client use webmail.theirdomain cpanel.theirdomain (proxy urls)?

Thinice is correct, it shouldn't matter the IP of the site as the domain.com/cpanel type links are configured through ScriptAliasMatch directives in your httpd.conf. Does it behave the same way trying to go to https://domain.com/cpanel and http://domain.com/cpanel ?

What kind of error do you get?

Thanks for the feedback . I'm new to this. Anyway, I trid the https way (which i hadn't tried because the other shared IP domains work fine with http or https) and it worked! with http I get a server timed out error, but https works like a charm. :)
so i'm just going to change the redirect in Tweaks to force it to https if they try without and make sure that works for both the shared and non-shared IP domains...or mayb I will just inform customers with a dedi IP to use HTTPS only for cpanel and webmail.

    thanks a lot!
