Cpanel Webmail

    Is that possible to handle webmail activity i mean crate email accounts, change password using my own script but which effect webmail database directly, if possible plz help me, i m new user in this

    Thks a lot for your reply, i checked this blog.there i saw how to create an account for cpanel but how can i create a new account for webmail user? And after running there script i found error, what to do

    Hi Shaila,

    Typically, email accounts are managed using the API2 Email module.

    If you're not familiar with the cPanel & WHM APis, I suggest reading this blog post for a good summary about them. There are several links in there to more detailed documentation. As well, you can search this forum for threads related to API2 Email::addpop and Email::passwdpop.

    If you need to interface with a particular webmail client, then it would be necessary for the webmail client to have an API of it's own. We recommend against this, in general, because often times there is more than one webmail client available to the cPanel account...and the most direct method for manipulating the account data is through our APIs.
