A very basic question, so I apologize as I am a total begginer.

I logged into my Cpanel with the root username and password. In the WHM/C-Panel how do I create a login so that the WHM login and root password will be different? There is no "Change Password" or Preferences Icon that are advised when i went to the cpanel FAQ.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Here's how:

    1. Create a cPanel user in WHM -> Account Functions -> Create New Account
    2. The information you fill out for the parameters doesn't need to be real. If you are only using it for an additional root access, I'd recommend using a domain name assignment that is blatantly not real, like username.fake.
    3. In WHM -> Resellers -> Reseller Center - add reseller privileges to the user you just created
    4. When prompted with the privileges to grant the user, select "root privileges"

Now you have an additional WHM root-level login. Note, this user will not have root access via shell - but they will have the equivalent of root access to cPanel/WHM.
