I work with a web design firm that has reseller hosting and our provider is using your cpanel 6. our client has there own mail server and i've noticed theres only an option for 1 mx record however my client has a backup mail server, is there a way to add a second record or any known work around for this? maybe changing the way there mail server is setup and such?

If you have the right to access reseller WHM, modify domain DNS can let you add another MX to that domain.

If you don't, ask someone who have right to WHM to help you add it to your domain namesever db.

thanks for all the help howtobeawebmaster.

eventually we also figured out you have to add a DOT at the end of the dns info so it knows the server is at another location.

I did forget about designating the location. sorry about that.
