I am new to cpanel. I got a dedicated old server as primary DNS which I want to setup as a DNS cluseter with the existing cpannel servers that I have.

I have installed strongbolt on my old sun cobalt machine. This is basically Centos with Bluequartz (which is like a miniture version of cpanel allows to to manage DNS and create websites etc).

Will the cpaneldns work on it? OR do I have to remove bluequartz?

Also what will be the url for accessing the cpaneldns interface?

cPanel DNS-Only is essentially a stripped-down version of cPanel/WHM. This means you should essentially install this on a server where one would anticipate cPanel/WHM to run without issue. Additionally, its GUI can be accessed the same way as WHM.

Note, cPanel DNS-Only does use BIND for its DNS functionality at this time.

I am not familiar with blue quartz myself. However, I will say that since cPanel DNS-Only isn't handling functionality such as web serving, mail etc., one can typically be more liberal about which software they run on a cPanel DNS-Only server as compared to a cPanel/WHM server.
