hi, i just updated on of my servers to cpanel 10.8.1-R4 a few days ago and have been informed by a couple of my customers that stats aren't being generated. upon further investigation it looks like cpanellogd just dies. i've restarted it a few times and with in say 5 or 10 minutes it's dead. has anybody had this problem with this version of cpanel?

ps. i did a "/scripts/upcp --force" just in case and still have the same issue.

    Yes

I have the same problem here with version 10.8.1-C3, stats are not running

even if I do /scripts/runweblogs user

After the process gives me all ok but when I go to the stats are still not updated.

This also happens on the latest EDGE build.

It's working fine for me. Please open a support ticket or provide some more specific information.

Same problem here on R4, but not on all servers. I am seeing this on one out of seven servers that I manage.

hi, i'll go ahead and open a support request. though here is some more info....cpanellogd appears to die at different times. some times it dies immediately and other times it runs for a while and processes some stats before dying. if "runweblogs" is run it appears to work but it's probably the process a few domains and then die behavior.

Has anyone got a response from cPanel yet? Nothing gets logged in the stats log for me and stats freeze after saying the Exim data has been processed no AWStats conf file is created etc

cpanellogd works for me after upgrading to the latest version of perl. I still get the "Child [
xxxx]: exited with signal 0" error messages but the stats run does get completed.

Log in as root via SSH:

    wget http://layer1.cpanel.net/perl587installer.tar.gz
    tar xfz perl587installer.tar.gz
    cd perl*
    ./install

    After it is done:

    /scripts/upcp
    cd
    rm -Rf perl*

You could also use CPAN to update perl, just making sure the default directory is /usr rather than the suggested /usr/local

Is the only fix to upgrade to 5.8.7 ?. Seems like something we would have been notfied about.

My stats stopped working around the upgrade to cPanel 10.8.1-S6 and if I try to manually start it the cpanellod dies at random points.

I would hate to do a perl upgrade and end up killing the machine. We are running freebsd 4.7

Its stopped working for me now, which makes no sense... it worked after I ran /scripts/upcp which hasn't been run again and now it's dead again.

here's the latest on my end. i had cpanel look at this and the tech couldn't find the problem even though he had been looking into this for a few days. last night i looked at this thread since i hadn't checked it for a few days and saw the post about using perl 5.8.7, i went and checked my servers and most of them had perl 5.6.1 installed. i updated perl to 5.8.7 and now cpanellogd appears to be working and doesn't die. but i just did this last night so let's see what happens after a few days. on the other servers that this started to happen on with perl 5.6.1 and cpanel 10.8.1 it seems like it took a few days after updating cpanel before cpanellogd actually died.

I upgraded the one server that was having this problem to perl 5.8.7 and it appears to have resolved the problem as well.
