cPanel's File Manager creates and uploads to wrong directory

    On the system I have:

    /home/username/public_html --symlinked to --> /var/www/

    My user uploads content via cPanel's File Manager, and clicks upload. The default directory it tries to upload to then becomes /home/username/public_html/var/www/ instead of just /home/username/public_html. It's almost as if it's appending the symlink to the doc root, which is crazy.

    I made sure my symlink is indeed pointing slash-var (/) and not just var, so nothing wrong with my symlink.

    What makes it even more strange is that on the File Manager GUI, it shows that the content was indeed uploaded to /home/username/public_html, when in reality the directory is empty. I have to manually rsync in shell and make the adjustment to make the site work.

    Is this a bug? Can anyone advise?

    Thank you.
