Every night at about 2am, cpanelstatsd runs and the server load jumps to 3.0 - 5.0, and leaves less than 3% of the cpu idle. This goes for almos half an hour and during that time, apache goes down.

Anyone have a suggestion to fix this, or know any way to speed up the cpanelstatsd process, or what exactly it's doing? All of the stats programs run under their own processes, don't they?

How many customers do you have on the server?

On the server in question, there are 193 domains. However, we are normally at a 0.0 to 0.4 load average consistently, except when that script runs.
